Man wanted for probation violation after fleeing Fort Myers police on scooter, crashing

A man is wanted for violating his probation after being arrested by Fort Myers police on an out-of-county warrant following a scooter crash and foot chase, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers says that Larry Simmons, 28, was caught driving a scooter down a busy road with no lights on in Fort Myers. When officers stopped him, Crime Stoppers says Simmons tried to ride away but lost control and crashed his scooter.

After a brief foot chase, Simmons was caught by officers, and reportedly told them that he ran because he had a warrant out for his arrest in Charlotte County and didn't want to go back to jail. Crime Stoppers says he violated his probation.

Simmons was last known to be living in central Fort Myers and has a teardrop and dollar sign tattooed on his face. Simmons also has "family first" tattooed on his right arm and "Lee County Reaper" tattooed on his stomach.
