A man was arrested early Tuesday morning in Golden Gate after he was accused of having cocaine with him while driving and using his brother's driver's license during a traffic stop.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office's arrest report, Jhonny Carlos Corona Gomez, 28, was arrested after a deputy saw a gray sedan parked the wrong way with its lights off on Tropical Way at 12:55 a.m.
Corona Gomez then turned the car's lights on and drove off, but he is accused of rolling past a stop sign, so the deputy stopped him.
Corona Gomez identified himself as "Sergio Corona Gomez," according to the report, but it was discovered later that he was accused of using his brother's identity.
The report states the deputy said they saw two white rocks on the car door handle believed to be crack cocaine. Deputies asked Corona Gomez to step out, but he is accused of trying to grab or conceal the suspected drugs.
Deputies removed Corona Gomez from the car, and he is accused of resisting being handcuffed. The report notes that the substance was tested and came back positive for cocaine.
Corona Gomez is facing charges of possession of cocaine, driving with a suspended/revoked license (knowingly), giving a false identity to law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence.
