Kings Highway widening project in Charlotte County starts Monday

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

On Monday, crews in Charlotte County will start the Kings Highway widening project from Sandhill Boulevard to the DeSoto County line.

Officials with the Charlotte County government say the project will provide a continuous four-lane divided highway from the I-75 interchange to the DeSoto County line and continue to Arcadia as part of the DeSoto County project.

Also being installed are protected left-turn lanes at critical locations to improve safety and traffic operations.

Charlotte County says that drivers should allow for extra time when planning to travel throughout this area.
