NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Hundreds of people will have their water shut off starting Tuesday morning for utility upgrades.
The outage will affect 1,600 homes and 22 commercial sites along both sides of U.S. 41, north of Del Prado Boulevard to Tara Woods. This includes the Del Tura Golf and Country Club, Tara Woods and Carefree Village.
The water will be shut off at 9 a.m. Wednesday, and some residents could be without water for up to eight hours. Residents are advised to plan accordingly.
Once water is restored, residents will then be under a precautionary boil water notice. If residents plan to use bottled water, now is a good time to stock up.
