1,600+ North Fort Myers residences to be impacted by water outage, boil water notice Tuesday

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. —

Lee County Utilities has announced that more than 1,600 North Fort Myers residences will be impacted by a brief water outage on Tuesday, April 28.

LCU said that neighborhoods and businesses along US-41 north of Del Prado Boulevard, including Carefree Village, Tara Woods and Del Tura Golf and Country Club, should expect a brief water outage at around 9 a.m., which will then be followed by a boil water notice.

The impacted area includes 1,604 residences and 22 commercial sites. These locations will be without water for up to eight hours, and the precautionary boil water notice will take effect when water service is restored. The boil water notice is expected to be lifted by the end of the week.

LCU said the outage is necessary as it installs a 12-inch water valve and replaces a section of 12-inch water pipe.
