Medical emergency postpones Collier school board special session on teacher contract deadlock

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A medical emergency involving a Collier County Public Schools board member has postponed a special legislative session/public hearing on Monday.

According to the school district, the meeting was scheduled to address a deadlock on teacher contracts with the Collier County Education Association. They also said it is important that all five members of the school board have the opportunity to discuss the matter.

The session will be rescheduled, and the school district said both sides are working on another date. The new date and time will be shared when it is finalized.
