Snapchat reports Golden Gate man accused of having 58 files of child porn, bestiality

NAPLES, Fla. —

A Golden Gate man was arrested on April 23 after being accused of possession of child sex abuse material and videos of sexual abuse of animals.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the investigation into Diego Reyes, 21, began on Jan. 28 after authorities received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip was reported to the NCMEC by Snapchat, Inc.

The tip informed deputies that a Snapchat account was being used in the act of possession, manufacturing and distribution of child pornography, CCSO said.

On Feb. 6, investigators launched a search warrant for Reyes' account, and gained access to it on Feb. 24. They discovered 36 files that contained child sex abuse material and 22 files containing depictions of bestiality.

Investigators then used a subpoena to locate the IP address and device connected to the account.

On April 23, Reyes was arrested by CCSO deputies.

Reyes faces charges of eight counts of possession of child pornography and six counts of animal cruelty - sexual activity involving animals.
