FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Gas prices jumped 20 cents overnight in the Fort Myers and Cape Coral area, now sitting at $4.13 per gallon as of Tuesday morning.
Monday's average from AAA was $3.94. The current price is above the county and statewide averages in Florida, but remains lower than the national average.
Diesel prices dipped slightly. An all-time high was posted earlier this month.
One driver, Ed Lebon, said he's not hopeful about a price drop anytime soon.
"Of course, I wanted to go down as soon as possible. You know what I mean? Just got to be patient. Hopefully, everything will go back to normal. But it's not gonna be anytime soon," Lebon said.
The Naples area saw a similar jump, around 20 cents overnight.
