Cape Coral aviation club lets enthusiasts fly planes without leaving ground

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)— A Southwest Florida aviation club is offering enthusiasts a hands-on way to experience flying without ever leaving the ground.

The Cape Coral R Seahawks meet at the airstrip off Wilmington Parkway, not too far from Nelson Road. 

Located on 1030 NW 28th Street, the aviation club offers a 60′ wide, and 600′ long asphalt airstrip with five taxiways.

Three pavilions, each housing four assembly tables, are available. Up to four fixed-wing planes fly at a time. Night flying is permissible for one hour after sunset on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

The club provides members with practical aviation experiences through ground-based activities.

The organization brings together people in the Cape Coral area who share a passion for aviation.
