Town of Fort Myers Beach provides update on Estero Blvd repairs

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. —

The Town of Fort Myers Beach provided updates on repairs taking place along Estero Boulevard and what visitors can expect in the coming weeks.

Traffic is expected to be impacted along Estero Boulevard beginning May 7 and continuing through May 30 between Donora Boulevard and Voorhis Street. The impacts are in addition to the continued work on the Hurricane Repairs Project.

Sidewalk and driveway improvements are underway at 3051 Estero Boulevard, with the northbound bike lane temporarily closed. Sidewalk detours are in place, and the work hours at this location are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A two-day fire hydrant installation project will take place at 4950 Estero Boulevard beginning May 7. Visitors should expect temporary traffic control and minor delays during work hours, which are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Hurricane Repairs Project from Estrellita Drive to Crescent Street is ongoing, with improvements underway to the roadway, sidewalk, drainage and ADA upgrades.

From Flamingo Street to Mound Road, repairs are taking place to the center drain brick paver, with no lane closures expected.

From Estrellita Drive to Lenell Road, removal of the damaged sidewalk, curb and gutter is underway. No lane closures are expected.

Permanent signal repairs to the traffic signal at the intersection of Old San Carlos Boulevard and Estero Boulevard are expected to begin on May 4.

The town reminds all visitors to plan accordingly and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
