Big weather shift: When the heat breaks and when rain replaces it

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking the continuation of hot and dry weather for the next few days before our weekend takes a turn with rain moving Saturday night into Sunday.

Next Three Days

Friday is off to a mild and humid start once again with temperatures in the 60s to lower 70s. Our hot and dry weather continues with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky Friday afternoon. Highs top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Temperatures will feel more like the low to mid 90s across Southwest Florida.

Saturday will start quite warm and humid with morning temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Plan for a hot and breezy day with wind gusts ranging from 20 to 30 mph. Highs top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s with "feels like" temperatures in the upper 90s to around 100° in the afternoon. A few showers and storms (20% coverage) will move into our northern communities Saturday evening.

Sunday will start quite humid with showers moving in for your Sunday morning plans. Scattered rain and a few storms (50% coverage) will continue off and on throughout the day. Plan for heavy rain at times as those showers move through Southwest Florida. Highs will be cooler and in the lower to mid 80s. Rain moves out Sunday night.
