Video: Youth football game brawl leads to mother's arrest for storming field, kicking player

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

A parent reportedly kicked a 13-year-old during a fight at a youth football game at Brooks Park in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Deputies said Renee Lambert ran onto the field and kicked the teenager during an altercation between players. Kurtis Jones, who filmed the incident, said, "There was a lot of tension building up between players and everything."

Body camera footage shows Lambert attempting to leave the scene before deputies confronted her. When approached, she began fighting with them, according to authorities. The video later shows Lambert walking away in handcuffs.

Lambert told deputies she fought back because a child hit her with a helmet, but investigators determined that claim was false.

Witnesses expressed disappointment over the incident.

"I think personally it's definitely disrespectful to both organizations, not just one, because you're ruining the game for the kids that they love so much that they spend their time, their week, their hours, everything they got coming out here to play on one Saturday for an hour and a half," one person said.

Deputies confirmed Lambert has no prior arrest history. She was arrested for child abuse and resisting an officer.
