Cape Coral City Council to discuss Sun Splash Waterpark lease transfer

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

Cape Coral City Council will meet Wednesday afternoon to discuss transferring the lease for Sun Splash Waterpark.

The park has been open since 1992, but officials say the current operator is retiring and selling its water park assets.

City Council will consider transferring the lease to Ripley's, the company behind the "Believe It or Not" attractions.

If approved, the lease terms would remain the same, but Ripley's would take over operations of the park.

The council meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m.
