'Looksmaxxing' influencer Clavicular faces charges in apparent Everglades alligator shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. —

"Looksmaxxing" influencer Clavicular is facing charges in Miami-Dade County in connection with a video that appeared to show an alligator being shot at in the Florida Everglades, according to court records.

NBC6 South Florida viewed court records, which revealed that Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, is facing a charge for unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place or residential property, according to the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office.

Two others are facing charges alongside Clavicular, including Andrew Morales, known online as "Cuban Tarzan," and Yabdiel Anibal Cotto Torres.

Court records state that the shooting, which appeared to be captured in a video posted online that sparked a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigation, occurred in the area of the Francis S. Taylor Everglades Wildlife Management Area boat ramp dock on or about March 26.

The video showed a group of people who appeared to be shooting firearms at an alligator, FWC officials said.

It is unclear if the alligator was dead or alive before the group shot at it. Federal law prohibits the discharge of firearms in certain areas of the Everglades.

NBC6 South Florida reported that Morales' attorney, Richard L. Cooper, released a statement Wednesday that read:

"We urge the public not to rush to judgment. Importantly, there is no allegation that any animal was injured, and the available evidence does not support the sensationalized narrative that has circulated online," the statement read. "My client relied on information and guidance provided by those in authority and had no criminal intent."

An arraignment is scheduled for May 20, court records show.

Peters was arrested in March in a separate case in relation to a battery charge.

Who is Clavicular?

Peters is an online personality and streamer on the platform Kick.

He is most well-known for his promotion of a concept called "looksmaxxing," which encourages people to maximize their physical attractiveness by sculpting their jawline through practices that include tapping one's face with a hammer.

The 20-year-old has amassed over 500K followers on Instagram and is a controversial figure in online discussions.
