Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann answers questions following latest arrest

NAPLES, Fla. (WINK) — Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann answered questions on Wednesday following her second arrest for an alleged probation violation.

The mayor was seen leaving her car and heading to a Naples City Council meeting in the morning.

WINK News Reporter Maddie Herron asked Heitmann if the mayor was allowed to drive.

Heitman said, "I didn't do anything illegal."

Heitmann was originally arrested for driving under the influence in August of 2024. She accepted a plea deal in February.

Heitmann's sentence includes 12 months of probation, payment of legal fees, and 50 hours of community service. Additionally, her driver's license will be revoked until August, and an ignition interlock device will be installed in her car.

She is prohibited from consuming alcohol, although it is allowed in her home. She is also subject to random drug and alcohol tests as part of her probation.

Her next court date is May 11 at 9 a.m.
