An Animal Experience Awaits at Scatter Joy Acres’ Florida Sanctuary

Located in Alva, Scatter Joy Acres is home to its Florida extension, Hope and Joy Sanctuary, where visitors are invited to slow down and step into a more personal kind of animal experience.

The Florida sanctuary continues that mission with a more intimate approach, offering smaller group settings, quieter spaces, and deeper interactions with animals.

The Wild Welcome Tour offers a guided walk through the six-acre property, where visitors can meet animal residents and learn about their care in an interactive setting. 

For those wanting something more hands-on, the Safari Signature Tour offers opportunities to get closer to the animals, including feeding capybaras, meeting kangaroos, and safely interacting with a sloth.

For a more elevated visit, the Reserve Royale Tour offers an adult-only VIP experience with exclusive animal encounters, including time with otters, along with drinks and light bites in a more private setting.

One important thing to know before planning your visit is that Scatter Joy Acres has moved away from traditional walk-in hours. 

All visits must now be scheduled in advance, a change that helps create a calmer environment for both the animals and guests while allowing for more meaningful, one-on-one experiences.

The sanctuary is located at 19861 North River Road in Alva, and all experiences are by reservation only. 

Closed-toe shoes are required, and interactions are always guided by trained staff.
