Charlotte County Sheriff's deputy arrested for suspected DUI

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WINK)—A Charlotte County lieutenant was arrested after the Florida Highway Patrol said he was driving under the influence.

The agency said troopers stopped a swerving car in Port Charlotte around midnight. They identified Lt. Scott Clemens as the driver.

After a field sobriety test, he was arrested.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office told WINK News it is conducting an internal investigation. Clemens is on administrative leave.
