Collier County man wanted for ditching court after arrest for threatening to kill woman

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A Collier County man is wanted after failing to show up to his court date in February after an arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Daniel Medina, 33, went to the victim's home and threatened to kill her if she did not leave with him. The victim attempted to isolate herself in another room, but Medina followed her, grabbing his waistband, indicating that he had a gun.

When a witness intervened, Medina left the house in a car, almost running over another person in the process, Crime Stoppers said. Deputies located Medina minutes later and attempted a traffic stop.

Instead of stopping, Medina sped off, leading deputies on a high-speed chase, Crime Stoppers said. During the chase, Medina's car became disabled, and after attempting to run away, he was caught by deputies.

Medina spent time in jail before being released on the condition of attending his future court hearings, which Crime Stoppers said he has failed to do.

Medina is 5'7", weighs 200 pounds, and was last known to be living in the East Naples area.
