Man accused of probation violation after arrest for stealing car in downtown Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

A man is accused of violating his probation after being found guilty of stealing a parked car in front of a downtown Fort Myers bar.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Kalan Admire, 40, violated his probation last week after an arrest for grand theft auto.

Crime Stoppers said that Admire was standing outside a bar in Fort Myers when the victim pulled his car out front and left it running briefly while he went inside to pick up an employee. Admire then stole the car and sped off.

When the victim realized the car was gone, he checked surveillance footage, which showed Admire taking the car, Crime Stoppers said. Admire was arrested 10 days later and eventually found guilty of grand theft auto. He was sentenced to two years of probation, which Crime Stoppers said he violated.

Admire has 17 prior arrests in Lee and Collier counties on charges of resisting arrest, drugs, assault, contempt and DUI.

Admire is 6'2", 150 pounds, and was last known to be living in Naples.
