Sarasota County social media influencer accused of possessing child sexual abuse material

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. —

A social media influencer was arrested Wednesday in Sarasota County after he was accused of possessing child sexual abuse material.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, Mason Hull, 18, was arrested after an investigation that began on April 30 when deputies responded to a call about a possible suspect accused of possessing the material.

The investigation began when Hull's girlfriend went through his cell phone while he was sleeping and found photos and links to photos containing child sexual abuse material, WWSB reported.

Investigators determined the evidence appeared to contain links to websites used to obtain child sexual abuse material, as well as conversations discussing payment for files, SCSO said.

Following a forensic examination of Hull's phone, a signed arrest warrant was obtained, charging Hull with 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. SCSO said that the images and videos on Hull's phone depicted female children between the ages of 8 and 15.

Hull, who goes by "Hullo" on TikTok, where he has over 350,000 followers, is an influencer focused on posting "looksmaxxing" content. "Looksmaxxing" is a trend that encourages young men to sculpt their appearance. The trend was made popular by influencer Clavicular, who was also recently arrested in Florida.
