CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)— Firefighters are battling a 10-acre brush fire along I-75 near mile marker 151 in Charlotte County.
Charlotte County Fire & EMS responded to the scene at 4:08 p.m. and found two separate brush fires burning.
Crews began suppression efforts on both fires individually, but the blazes later merged into one larger fire.
The fire is currently 20% contained. Charlotte County Fire & EMS is working alongside the Florida Forest Service, Charlotte County Sheriff's Office and Bayshore Fire to contain the fire.
No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
