Storm window opens this afternoon; when can you expect the first rounds

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a weak cold front that will bring more clouds, higher rain chances, and slightly cooler temperatures over the next few days.

Monday

Humidity remains high to start the week, keeping conditions hot and sticky across the area. 

This afternoon will be a hot one with highs in the lower to mid 90s and “feels like” temperatures between 98° and 103°. 

A few early afternoon storms may develop near Interstate 75, with isolated activity continuing into the evening.

Tuesday

Tuesday stays humid and hot, with similar morning lows in the 70s and afternoon highs in the lower to mid 90s. 

Rain chances increase, with scattered storms expected through the afternoon and evening. 

Coastal communities will have a better chance of seeing rain than on Monday.

Wednesday 

By Wednesday, a weak cold front moves through, bringing temperatures down a few degrees. Highs will still be above normal but will drop into the upper 80s to the lower 90s. 

Scattered showers and storms are in the forecast, mainly during the afternoon and evening. 

Drier and slightly cooler conditions are expected for the second half of the work week.
