A man was arrested in Lehigh Acres on Saturday after being accused of threatening a woman with a machete.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report, the victim was in the side yard of a home when a man who identified himself as "Manny" approached her. The man demanded that the victim give him a scooter, which she was holding at the time for a friend.
The victim told the man that she wasn't going to give it to him without making sure who the proper owner of the scooter was. She then went inside the home and into the front yard, where "Manny" approached her again, the report said.
The man told the victim, "I'm going to need that scooter," the report said. He then pulled a machete from his waistband and began swinging it around in a threatening manner.
The victim retreated inside, where her friend had already called 911.
Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke to the victim. While speaking to the victim, deputies saw the man return and drop the machete in the ditch area of the residence, the report said.
The man was then identified as Yasmani Diaz De Celis, 43, the report said. Deputies gave De Celis a pat-down and discovered a glass pipe on him, which tested positive for cocaine.
De Celis was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and possession of drug equipment.
