A Texas mother was arrested in Lee County Monday in connection with the drowning of her two daughters who investigators determined had cocaine in their systems when they died on February 11.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Laura Nicholson, 23, was arrested by the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force in coordination with its Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, and she was booked into the Lee County Jail.
Since Friday, Nicholson is facing charges of two counts of injury to a child for her reported involvement in her daughters' deaths, according to the sheriff's office. The girls were 2-years-old and 3-years-old.
