Low humidity hits Southwest Florida before storms return this weekend

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — A front pushed through Southwest Florida overnight, and while it won't bring cooler temperatures, it is delivering something almost as welcome this time of year—drier air!

While lower humidity and slim rain chances headline Friday’s forecast, the early stages of the rainy season appear set to begin later this weekend.

Friday morning will be pleasant, with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s and unseasonably low humidity.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with only a stray shower possible in the late afternoon and evening, about 10% chance of rain.  High temperatures will reach the lower 90s.

Humidity slowly begins to build back this weekend, especially by Sunday. 

Afternoon highs will climb into the mid-90s for many Southwest Florida communities. 

Saturday will bring only a few storms with 20% rain coverage. 

By Sunday, rain chances increase to 50%, with scattered storms developing in the late afternoon and evening.

This increase in moisture, along with a shift in the winds on Sunday, signals the beginning of the early stages of the rainy season.
