Naples arcade shut down after raid by gaming commission, Collier County deputies

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A Naples arcade is now closed after a lengthy raid involving the Florida Gaming Control Commission and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Neighbors living near the Naples Social Club at 1115 Airport-Pulling Road say they had been concerned about the business for weeks before authorities raided it on Tuesday.

Video obtained by Gulf Coast News shows slot machines being loaded into trucks outside the business during the operation.

Neighbors say the raid started around 4 p.m. Tuesday and lasted until about 11:30 that night.

Dan, who has lived nearby for about 11 years, said people in the neighborhood started noticing suspicious activity after the business opened roughly two months ago.

He said the building raised concerns because the windows were blacked out, there was little signage, and people were constantly coming and going.

“For the longest time, it never even had a name on the building,” Dan said. “But there was the parking lot was always full, and there were always people hanging around on the sidewalk there.”

Dan said neighbors also began noticing more suspicious activity in the area, including people allegedly going through mailboxes and vehicles. He said someone went through the bed of his truck, and another neighbor had a bicycle stolen.

Neighbors say they eventually started doing their own research into the business and filed complaints with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Dan said that about two weeks later, the raid happened.

“It answered some questions,” he said.

Gulf Coast News reached out to the Florida Gaming Control Commission, asking what caused the raid, whether any arrests were made, and what was seized.

As of Thursday evening, we have not received a response.
