SOUTHWEST FLORIDA — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are keeping an eye on a wetter weekend forecast as the rainy season begins in Southwest Florida.
Friday is starting less humid and pleasant with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Plan for temperatures to heat up fast with highs in the lower to mid 90s. Many communities stay dry this Friday with a few storms developing inland later in the afternoon and continuing into the evening.
Saturday is forecast to start a little more humid with temperatures in the lower 70s. Plan for a partly cloudy day with isolated storms (30% coverage) developing in the afternoon and evening. More of those storms can develop closer to the coast as well. Highs continue to be quite hot as they top out in the lower to mid 90s.
Sunday looks to start mild and dry with temperatures in the 70s. While morning and midday hours are looking dry, WINK News Weather Authority Meteorologists are tracking more storms for your Sunday plans. Scattered storms (60% coverage) are looking more likely in the afternoon and evening with coverage looking to be overhead of more coastal communities. Highs top out in the lower to mid 90s before storms develop.
