Crews battle 35-acre Golden Gate Estates brush fire near Inez Road, voluntary evacuation issued

GOLDEN GATE ESTATES, Fla. —

Crews are battling a brush fire in the area of Inez Road and Markley Avenue in Golden Gate Estates Monday while another fire is being fought in the Picayune Strand State Forest.

According to the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District, the fire is about 35 acres and 0% contained. The Lee County South Strike Team is also working to assist them.

As of 3:35 p.m., there are voluntary evacuation orders for all streets north of Alligator Alley and east of the landfill, as well as far north as Keane Avenue and as far east as Rob Road.
