IMAG History & Science Center brings back interactive summer camps for kids

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Families looking for a way to keep kids learning and entertained this summer can head to IMAG History & Science Center, where Camp IMAG is bringing hands-on science, history and creativity together through a series of themed summer camps.

The Fort Myers center is inviting rising first through fifth graders to take part in its 10-week summer camp program filled with experiments, engineering challenges, interactive activities and immersive learning experiences.

Each week has a different theme, giving campers a chance to explore everything from cooking science to global adventures and technology.

One of the featured weeks is “Chef IMAG Junior,” where kids learn about the science behind flavor, heat and cooking through hands-on kitchen experiments.

Another week, called “Great Science Race,” challenges campers to solve science-inspired missions connected to environments around the world.

Campers also get access to many of the museum’s most popular attractions and exhibits, including aquariums, animal encounters, engineering labs and interactive STEM displays.

The center features experiences like Science on a Sphere, the USS Mohawk Aquarium and live wildlife exhibits designed to make learning feel like play.

The camp runs weekly throughout the summer from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with optional before and after care available for families.

Scholarships are also being offered through the Camp IMAG Scholarship Fund to help more children participate in STEM and history education opportunities.

For more than 28 years, IMAG has served Southwest Florida families through science, technology, engineering and history-focused exhibits and programs aimed at inspiring curiosity in children of all ages.
