Deputies find, guns, drugs, cash and more in Charlotte County home raid as man arrested

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man is in custody after deputies with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at an Englewood home, revealing several pounds of cocaine and marijuana, cash, guns and more.

According to CCSO, their Narcotics Unit served a search warrant on Tuesday with the assistance of SWAT at a home on Michael Street. CCSO says they had previously conducted an investigation into the owner of the home, Matthew Taylor, 30, who is accused of trafficking cocaine and selling it to undercover detectives.

Deputies say that through their investigation they concluded that Taylor was the supplier of the drugs. They add that surveillance video showed Taylor making multiple drug sales from his home.

All of this led to a search warrant at Taylor's home, during which he was taken into custody. The following items were found in his home, according to deputies:

• 1.57 pounds of cocaine
• 8.22 pounds of marijuana
• 50 Adderall pills
• $21,840 in cash
• Money counter machine, baggies and scales
• .22 caliber rifle

Taylor faces two trafficking in cocaine charges, two probation violation charges and two possession of drug paraphernalia charges. He also faces charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
