A Lehigh Acres man was arrested on Wednesday after deputies located multiple bags of fentanyl while conducting a search warrant on his home.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies began investigating Edward Coleman, 50, in February 2026 after being made aware he was accused of selling narcotics.
The multi-month investigation led to probable cause being established to arrest Coleman on two counts of delivering a controlled substance, the report said.
On Wednesday, members of the Tactical Narcotics Team responded to Coleman's home in Lehigh Acres and placed him under arrest. The report said that detectives then searched Coleman's pockets and found multiple bags containing fentanyl, totaling 15.1 grams.
A judge authorized a residential search warrant, and deputies searched Coleman's house. According to the report, deputies located 41.2 grams of fentanyl stashed in an Air Jordan shoe in the master bedroom closet.
Deputies also located a scale on the right side of the closet, the report said.
Coleman faces charges of two counts of delivery of a Schedule 2 substance, possession with the intent to sell a Schedule 2 substance, and trafficking in fentanyl.
