A Port Charlotte man will spend the next 25 years in prison after pleading no contest to the 2023 murder of his father at a Lee County Restaurant Depot parking lot, according to court documents.
In 2023 deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested Jancarlos Jose Lizardi Rosado, 25 from Port Charlotte, on second degree murder charges after surveillance video showed him shooting at and eventually killing his father at a Restaurant Depot parking lot off of US-41.
Deputies say Rosado emptied an entire magazine of ammunition into his father's chest. Rosado pleaded no contest to his murder on Monday.
Court documents have set a 25 year prison sentence for Rosado, followed by 10 years of state probation.
