Cape Coral streets flood as storms move through SW Florida Thursday evening

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

Southwest Florida experienced major showers on Thursday evening, which led to flooding throughout the streets in Cape Coral.

Video shared with Gulf Coast News captured the aftermath as water flooded the streets of southeast Cape Coral.

A flood advisory was in place for Cape Coral until 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Gulf Coast News meteorologists noted that this rainy season pattern is expected to remain mostly unchanged through next week.
