2 children arrested following investigation into armed burglary at Marco Island home

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. —

Two children were arrested by Collier County deputies in connection with an armed burglary case on Marco Island.

According to the Marco Island Police Department, the investigation began after an armed burglary in the 400 block of Capri Court on May 3.

During the investigation, officers developed evidence that linked the two children to the incident. The case was reviewed by the State Attorney's Office, which resulted in arrest warrants being issued on charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling while armed and criminal mischief under $200.

“We appreciate the hard work of our detectives and the assistance provided by the community throughout this investigation,” said Interim Police Chief Joe Belardo. “The tips and information shared by members of the public played an important role in helping move this case forward.”
