Charlotte County issues boil water notice for northwest area customers

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)— Charlotte County Utilities Department issued a precautionary boil water notice for some customers in the northwest part of the county after a temporary loss of pressure, according to a press release.

The affected area spans from El Jobean Road north to Hillsborough and Flamingo Boulevards, and west to the Myakka River. 

Customers in this area should boil water intended for drinking or cooking until further notice.

The Utilities Department will notify affected customers with a rescission notice once water quality is confirmed to be at safe consumption levels. Bottled water can be used as an alternative.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until further notice.
