Crews work on gas leak at Lavilla Road and Scott Street in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

Charlotte County Public Safety said it is working on a gas leak at Lavilla Road and Scott Street on Thursday.

According to Public Safety, a four-inch line was gashed by contract workers and crews are attempting to access a shutoff valve nearby.

In addition, the road is closed and there is a shelter-in-place order for two homes, Public Safety said.
