Extreme drought sparks new burn ban in Glades County as wildfire threat grows

GLADES COUNTY, Fla. —

Glades County issued a countywide burn ban on Wednesday as increased wildfire risk and dry conditions persist across Southwest Florida.

The burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, campfires, bonfires, and any unauthorized outdoor open burning.

Officials said updates will be shared as conditions change.
