Marco Island interim police chief to be sworn in

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK) — Lt. Joe Belardo is set to be sworn in as Marco Island's interim police chief on Wednesday.

This comes after current Police Chief Tracy Frazzano announced her retirement earlier in May. Belardo has been with the department since 2020.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Frazzano, who helped the agency achieve accreditation and re-accreditation, will also be recognized with a traditional "walk out" ceremony.

Both ceremonies are open to the public.
