Riverview man found guilty of shooting into car 10 times, hitting driver and passenger in Lee Co.

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

A Riverview man was found guilty of battery and shooting into an occupied vehicle charges on Friday following an arrest in 2024, according to a news release from the State Attorney's Office.

The release says that in 2024, Rocco Nicholas Ruzzo, 35, was outside of a residence in Lehigh Acres when he pulled out a gun and shot at a vehicle 10 times. Ruzzo reportedly claimed that he thought the car was associated with another vehicle that he had previously encountered that day.

The SAO says the driver of the vehicle was hit by bullets multiple times but survived, and that the passenger was grazed by a bullet and also survived.

Ruzzo is set to be sentenced in July.
