Tice man facing battery, drug charges wanted for violating release terms

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A man with a history of violence, particularly towards women, is on the run.

A new warrant for the arrest of Adriel Martinez was issued last week on charges relating to two counts of battery, obstruction, drugs, and tampering with a witness or victim.

Lee County deputies said Martinez went to a home in Lehigh Acres and quickly got into a verbal argument with a woman. Martinez’s temper escalated quickly, and he picked up an object and threw it at the woman’s face, while young children were close by.

When the victim tried to call 9-1-1, Martinez grabbed the device and hurled it onto the roof, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. He then took off, but not before reportedly ramming into her mailbox and a nearby stop sign.

Deputies located him a few days later, when he resisted arrest and was found with both marijuana and amphetamines in the car.

He was released after two days in jail, but was recently recalled to incarceration after he violated the conditions of his freedom.

This 33-year-old offender has 19 priors on his record, including charges of drugs, battery, burglary, obstruction, aggravated battery on a pregnant victim, and failure to pay child support. He is 6’0”, 215 pounds, and was last known to be living in the Tice area.
