WESTON, Fla. (WINK)—Florida Highway Patrol arrested 60-year-old Cira Quinones Lewis on charges of driving with a suspended license and failing to return a driver's license or register with an insurance company following a Mother's Day crash on Interstate 75 in Weston near Fort Lauderdale that killed Cape Coral resident Don Tupper.

Quinones is now being held in Louisiana on an immigration hold. Investigators are still working to determine what led to the crash and which driver was at fault.

Those who knew Tupper say he never thought twice about helping someone in need. At Cape Harbor in Cape Coral, Tupper would come every Tuesday for bike night and never missed a night.

Friends say Tupper loved spending time fishing just as much as he loved riding his motorcycle across Southwest Florida. The Cape Coral community lost more than just a friend in the crash.

Angela Weinstein, a close friend, says they lost someone who always showed up for others.

"There was not a dry eye in Cape Coral. Anyone who knew Don was pretty upset because it was a catastrophic accident," Weinstein said.

"He might have been stubborn, and he might have spoken his mind, but if anyone asked for help or needed anything, Don Tupper was there," Weinstein said.

Weinstein says she met Tupper years ago through motorcycle rides and fundraisers across Southwest Florida. She says that whether it was raising money for veterans or helping local hospitals, Tupper always wanted to give back.

"Most of our time was spent on two wheels going down the road," Weinstein said.

For Weinstein, the loss is still hard to process. She says Tupper leaves behind children, grandchildren, and a community determined to honor his memory.

"He will be missed by the entire community, not just friends, one way or another," Weinstein said.

Friends say they plan to hold a procession for him in the coming weeks to honor his legacy and never forget it.
