The Lee and Collier County public libraries have announced their annual summer reading program, this year entitled "Unearth a Story."
Lee County
From June 1 through August 1, children and adults are invited to "Unearth a Story" at Lee County public libraries.
The program features numerous free library performances and an all-ages reading challenge with dinosaur and discovery-themed activities. Lee County said that every child and teenager who visits the library this summer will be able to choose a free, new book, while supplies last.
Library Director Mindi Simon said there is something for everyone in the program.
“The library is proud to offer a highly engaging summer reading experience that encourages every reader to explore the world around them and to develop new perspectives while fostering curiosity,” Simon said.
The reading program offers both online and offline programs, with challenges designed to tap into participants' curiosity.

Participants can register by visiting any Collier County Public Library to obtain a reading card. Readers are encouraged to enjoy books, eBooks or audiobooks.
Children from birth through Grade 12 can submit their completed reading cards to receive a small prize at each visit, along with one entry into the grand prize drawing per card.
Adults are also invited to participate for a chance to win a family membership to local partner organizations such as the Naples Botanical Garden and the Naples Zoo.
