Man arrested in Cape Coral after driving 108 mph in 50 mph zone, officers say

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A man was arrested in Cape Coral on May 28 after being accused of driving over 100 mph in a 50 mph zone.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, Anthony Melendez Torres, 20, drove past an officer near 1900 Veterans Parkway East in a white Mustang while traveling at 108 mph.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on Torres, who offered no explanation as to why he was driving so fast, CCPD said.
Torres was arrested and faces a charge of super speeding.
