1,600 residences and seven commercial businesses along Corkscrew Road east of I-75 in Lee County will be impacted by a water outage and Boil Water Notice beginning Tuesday night.
According to Lee County Utilities, a brief water outage followed by a Boil Water Notice will begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Impacted sites are expected to be without water for about seven hours, and the Boil Water Notice will take effect when water service is restored Wednesday morning. The notice is expected to be lifted later in the week.
Lee County Utilities said the affected areas include:
- Corkscrew Road from Grammercy Boulevard to Hanley Boulevard, including 17700, 17750 and 17880 Corkscrew Road
- All of Verdana Village
- All of The Shoppes at Verdana Village
- Estero Fire Rescue Station No. 45
The county said the outage is necessary as crews will be installing a 16-inch water valve.
"Beginning Wednesday, as a precaution, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes must be boiled at a rolling boil for one minute," Lee County said. "Or, as an alternative, bottled water may be used."
The county will post when the notice is lifted. Click here to track the status of the notice.
