2 felons sentenced to prison for shipping meth, fentanyl from California to Fort Myers and Tampa

Two Florida felons have been sentenced Tuesday to federal prison for conspiring to ship methamphetamine and fentanyl from California to the Tampa and Southwest Florida areas.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Clarence Black, Jr., 50, of Tampa has been sentenced to 20 years and 6 months in prison for drug trafficking conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl while being on federal supervised release.

Jarrek Fabrion Myrick, 40, of Fort Myers was also sentenced to 15 years and 6 months in prison for drug trafficking conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Black pleaded guilty on Nov. 19, 2025, and Myrick pleaded guilty on January 27.

According to court documents, between January 25, 2025, and February 4, 2025, Black and Myrick went to California and shipped meth and fentanyl to the Tampa and Southwest Florida areas. The parcels were intercepted and the total quantity of meth and fentanyl was more than 90 pounds.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said Black was on supervised release for a prior conviction for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine at the time he committed the offenses, while Myrick had a prior conviction for second-degree murder.

The case was investigated by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Tampa Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
