Free breakfast and lunch kits for kids available across Lee County this summer

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — The School District of Lee County and Summer BreakSpot are partnering to provide free weekly meal kits for children 18 and under throughout the summer.

Six schools and eight community-based locations will distribute seven-day shelf-stable meal kits on Mondays between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. from June 8 to July 27. Each kit includes breakfast and lunch for an entire week.

Parents need to bring a school ID, report card or other documentation to prove the number of children needing meal kits. Children do not need to be present to receive the meals.

The schools distributing meal kits are River Hall Elementary in Alva, The Alva School in Alva, Pine Island Elementary in Bokeelia, Gateway High School in Fort Myers, Harns Marsh Middle School in Lehigh Acres and Bayshore Elementary in North Fort Myers.

Community-based distribution sites include:

• Charleston Park in Alva
• Palms at Pine Island in Bokeelia
• Bonita Springs Fire Station #24 in Bonita Springs
• Crystal Lake Park in Cape Coral
• Buckingham Community Church in Fort Myers
• Buckingham Community Park in Fort Myers
• Prairie Pines Preserve in North Fort Myers (8:30 to 9 a.m.)
• Lee County Posse Arena in North Fort Myers
