Neighbors got hurricane-ready at Cape Coral's free expo

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)— The City of Cape Coral hosted its annual Hurricane Expo at the German American Club .

The free event offered residents a comprehensive opportunity to prepare for the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Attendees had access to valuable resources and information from more than 30 organizations, including key community partners like LCEC, the U.S. Coast Guard and Lee Health.

The expo featured a special presentation by our very own WINK Weather Authority meteorologist, Katie Walls, who provided insights on hurricane forecasting and preparedness.

Expert guidance from City of Cape Coral departments, including Emergency Management, Police, Fire and Development Services, were also available. Educational sessions covered evacuation zones, family emergency plans and disaster supply kits.

Residents had opportunities to connect with disaster preparedness experts and learn life-saving best practices. Giveaways were available to help residents build or enhance their hurricane kits.
