One more hot day before rain coverage expands

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a stalling front and increasing tropical moisture that leads to more rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday

Tuesday is off to a warm and muggy start with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Tuesday will feature a little more rain, but any isolated storms that develop will remain mainly inland before drifting toward Florida's east coast through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will top out in the lower to mid 90s and feel even hotter during the afternoon hours.

Wednesday

Wednesday will bring an increase in rain chances, beginning with a few coastal showers during the morning. More scattered showers and thunderstorms (60% coverage) will develop in the afternoon, with pockets of heavy rain continuing into the evening. Temperatures will not be as hot, with highs mainly in the mid to upper 80s.

Thursday

Thursday will start with isolated showers around the area during the morning commute. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon before gradually tapering off by evening. Temperatures will remain cooler, with highs in the mid 80s during the afternoon.
