COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A routine spay and neuter call for 10 cats turned into a rescue mission for what a Collier County rescue group said was 46 felines in need of help.

When rescue specialist Matt arrived at a Collier County home, he discovered dozens of kittens, mama cats, and young cats, most under a year old, all living in what the rescue group, For the Love of Cats, called difficult conditions. They said nearly all of the cats are friendly and in need of care.
The volunteers brought 25 of the cats to the Way Station, where they are receiving fresh food, clean litter boxes, water and care. The remaining kittens have been transported to Domestic Animal Services, while seven feral cats will be returned after they are spayed and neutered.
