Four Lee County pools closing June 10-11 for lifeguard training

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—Lee County Parks & Recreation announced that community pools will close temporarily on June 10 and the morning of June 11 for annual staff training.

According to a press release, the pools will reopen at noon on June 11. The closures affect four locations:

  • Lehigh Acres Community Pool at 1400 West Fifth Street in Lehigh Acres
  • North Fort Myers Community Pool at 5170 Orange Grove Boulevard in North Fort Myers
  • Pine Island Community Pool at 5675 Sesame Drive on Pine Island
  • San Carlos Community Pool at 8208 Sanibel Boulevard in Fort Myers.

Signs have been posted at each site to inform swimmers of the annual closing. Lee County lifeguards are tested annually for their performance skills and abilities to ensure they meet the county's safety standards.

The pools will begin extended weekend and evening hours for summer on June 13 through Aug. 8.
